Arts Learning Team Residency

Each Arts Learning Team residency is developed to meet the specific needs of each client.  While there are similarities, no two residencies are exactly the same and, according to needs and school size, residencies will vary in length.

A typical Arts Learning Team residency includes the following:
Before the Arts Learning Team arrives on-site, a RealVisions representative will:

  • Meet with the school principal to discuss how to match needs with arts integration strategies,
  • Meet with teachers to describe arts integration and how it might meet their needs for leveraging student learning,
  • Develop a series of professional development experiences for teachers consisting of substantive strategies for transforming student learning using the arts in non-arts disciplines, and
  • Assemble a compendium of standards-based lesson plans, resource materials and bibliography to support teachers’ integration of the arts in all subjects.

On-site, the Arts Learning Team will:

  • Implement the series of professional development experiences for teachers,
  • Model the use of standards-based lesson plans,
  • Meet with parents to explain the power of arts integration in the lives of their children and their school,
  • Confer with principal, staff and teachers to talk about partnership needs to support an arts integration program, and
  • Conclude with gathering principal, staff and teachers together in order to evaluate the residency and formulate goals and measurable outcomes for a comprehensive arts integration program.

At the conclusion of the residency, the Arts Learning Team will provide:

  • A written report detailing a program logic model (action theory) for a comprehensive arts integration program (including goals, activities, outcomes, performance measures and data collection methods) for your school.
